flower days – things that grew in may
[ad_1]
Flower days and matters that grew in may perhaps. A shelfie to share all the best blooms that ended up in the garden this late spring. From fragile poppies with tissue paper petals to rough pom poms of chive bouquets. Bladder campion on wiry stems and sweetly scented sweet peas, there is calendula in abundance and an explosion of sweet rocket, arcs of campanula and trails of custard coloured nasturtiums, vanilla scented Nemesia, autumn-sown snapdragons in apple blossom pink and a handful of rattling brizia to prime it all off.
The increasing place we produced past yr is whole of eco-friendly leaves and new shoots, so a great deal more in bud waiting to open and unfold, the roses are blooming on the arches and in the beds wildly now. Time permitting I will be back quickly and my following write-up will be a tour of the cottage garden and greenhouse to see it now, what is escalating, and look at it to previous 12 months.
But for now, these are the things that grew in May perhaps, all my favourites gathered together in the window of the lean-to. The winds have so significantly been rather kind and the combine of solar and showers has meant the lushness is off the scale compared to previous year’s chilly but dry spring. To be heading into summertime with nothing parched is this sort of a blessing. Now I have just received to maintain the slugs away from the dahlias and zinnias for the future act. Would like me luck! x
