Bathroom-related argument ends with victim flown to hospital

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — An Evansville Police affidavit promises an argument about how extended anyone was employing the bathroom led to a male swinging an axe and throwing a pot of boiling h2o on a victim.

1st responders say they ended up dispatched to the 200 block of S Bedford Avenue for a 60-yr-previous man who mentioned he was in a struggle and his heart was hurting. When officers arrived, they say they positioned Wayne Clardy, Demario White and Melissa Clardy.

A detective claims he spoke with Wayne Clardy at the hospital and he claimed that he was jumped by Melissa Clardy and White for the duration of the argument. Law enforcement say White told officers a different retelling of the incident.

According to the doc, White told law enforcement that him and Wayne Clardy argued about the rest room. Police say Wayne Clardy swung an axe at Melissa soon after she stepped in involving them. White claims he punched him in the chin to support protect her. He reportedly informed police that Wayne Clardy threw a pot of boiling warm h2o on him following adhering to him into the kitchen.

The affidavit states White was explained to by physicians that they have been going to fly him by helicopter to Indianapolis to take care of his 3rd diploma burns. Police say Wayne Clardy was unveiled from the clinic and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail.

  • DV Battery Significant Bodily Injuries
  • DV Battery Prior
  • Felony Recklessness
  • Aggravated Battery
